MOHS is the second concept album from the musician Jhon William Castaño Montoya, and is inspired by the studies of the German scientist Friedrich Mohs, who in 1812 devised a scale to classify minerals on the basis of their hardness. Ten grades from talc to diamond ordered according to the physical principle for which successive minerals are able to scratch the surface of the ones they follow. JWCM has developed this idea by gathering primordial sounds straight from stone, creating a soundscape to recall his experience of life. Integrating the rhythm thus generated with harmonic structures, he calibrates personal influences with creative experimentation and embarks on a musical journey, not to classify his own emotions, but to penetrate the mystery that binds one with another.

MOHS se inspira en los estudios del científico alemán Friedrich Mohs, quien en 1812 ideó una escala que clasifica los minerales en función de su dureza. Diez grados, del talco hasta el diamante, ordenados de acuerdo con el principio físico por el cual los minerales sucesivos son capaces de rayar la superficie de los que siguen.
El trabajo se basa en la recopilacion de sonidos naturales extraidos directamente de piedras, creando un paisaje sonoro y mental que recuerda experiencias de vida, armonias y ritmos. Una union directa entre vivencias personales y la experimentacion creativa, creando como resultado un viaje musical, no para clasificar emociones, pero si para descubri el misterio que se encuentra detras de cada uno de ellas...
